Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 5, 2026

Most privacy policies are written to create legal cover while saying as little as possible. This one is different. Here's what actually happens with your data when you use NewMech.tech.

What We Collect (and What We Don't)

There's no registration. No login. No account creation. You don't give us your name, email, or any personal information just to read content. That's intentional.

When you visit, the web server logs standard technical data—your IP address, what browser you're using, which pages you view, where you came from. This is automatic for any website. We use it to keep things running, identify problems, and understand what content is useful. That's it.

If you contact us, we'll have your email address and whatever you write. We use this to respond. We don't add you to mailing lists or hand your address to anyone else.

The career assessment tool processes everything locally in your browser. Your answers never leave your device. We don't see them, don't store them, don't analyze them. The results are calculated on your machine and disappear when you close the page. This was a design choice—we don't need that data, so we don't collect it.

What We Do With It

The technical logs help us keep the site functional—fixing bugs, blocking abuse, understanding which content gets used. If certain pages never get traffic, that's useful to know. If the server starts throwing errors, the logs tell us what's breaking.

We don't sell data. We don't share it with advertisers. We don't use it to build profiles or target you with anything. The data stays internal and serves one purpose: keeping the site useful.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies for basic site functionality—things like remembering navigation state during your session. No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No analytics tools that follow you around the internet.

If you want more detail on cookies specifically, the Cookie Policy breaks it down.

Third-Party Services

The site uses hosting and content delivery services run by third parties. These providers have access to limited technical data as part of delivering the site to you. We choose providers that handle data responsibly, but they have their own privacy policies. If you want to know what they collect, check their documentation.

Security

We use standard security practices. Encrypted connections, secure hosting, reasonable access controls. But let's be clear: nothing on the internet is perfectly secure. Breaches happen. Systems fail. If perfect security is critical for you, don't put that data online anywhere—including here.

Age Restrictions

This site is for engineering students and professionals, typically 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If that somehow happens, let us know and we'll delete it.

Your Data Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights around your data. Common ones include requesting what information we have about you, asking us to correct or delete it, or objecting to how we use it.

Since we collect very little personal data to begin with, there's usually not much to request. But if you want to exercise these rights, contact us and we'll handle it.

International Access

NewMech.tech is based in the European Union. If you access the site from another country, your data gets processed under EU law and GDPR protections apply.

Policy Updates

This policy might change over time. If it does, the updated version will appear here with a new date at the top. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the changes.

Questions

If something here is unclear or you have specific questions about how we handle data, email contact@newmech.tech. Actual person reads and responds to those.
